Barrow DEEP lock and swimming with Swans

On the River Soar is Barrow Deep Lock... it's very deep at nearly 3m, but not the biggest lock the Purple Boat has navigated. In the video below, the lock gate is closing behind us, in preparation for our upward journey as we open the paddles and the lock fills with water.

In busier times two narrowboats can easily share the lock. We have even shared locks with swans and their signets, as the young signets cannot fly yet and it is often the only way they can navigate different sections of the canal/rivers.
