The Purple
Boat
A cosy break for 2, or up to 4.
No experience needed - we'll show you the ropes...

THE BOAT
Traditional character, with a modern twist.
The Purple Boat is a vintage Springer narrowboat that has been lovingly restored. She's comfortable and practical, but we've kept plenty of her character that makes a narrowboat holiday feel special.
She is ideal for a couple wanting a peaceful break, but can also accommodate a family or group of four.

OUR STORY
Why purple?
Kwa Heri was built by Springer Engineering in 1978 and has been in the family ever since. She has been carefully refurbished and modernised by local boat builders JD Narrowboats located here, in Shardlow, while keeping the traditional feel of the boat.
And purple? That's part of the family story too. The boat has been the same shade of purple for over 40 years, a tradition started by my grandmother.
It's not just a hire boat - she's a boat we've loved, looked after and enjoyed ourselves.
