Whether you have been on a narrowboat holiday before or not, we cater for everyone, providing boat handling tuition to prepare you for your journey!

Inside the boat there is everything you need to enjoy your experience on the waterways of England.

Compact kitchen galley with everything you need to prepare meals, leading onto a cosy dining area, which converts to a double bed.

2 cabin beds can be converted into a large king size bed. All bedding is provided. There is storage space under the beds and in the wardrobes.

Thermostatically controlled shower and flush toilet with basin. Clean towels are provided.

Relax on the large sundeck at the back of the boat and take in the scenery and wildlife.

We welcome dogs aboard The Purple Boat and our dog Katie has always enjoyed trips away. She looks very smart in her yellow lifejacket!

The Purple Boat is moored on the Trent and Mersey Canal in the historic inland waterways port of Shardlow.
