Associated with Sam Springer, a steel fabricator based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, the business began making boats from the 1960s to the early 1990a, they helped make canal boating more affordable and accessible - allowing more people to enjoy life on the waterways. As another boating season comes to an end, we'd like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who chose The Purple Boat for their narrowboat holiday this year! We're now looking forward to a little winter rest before another season of narrowboat adventures begins in the Spring!

Project Purple is almost complete and doesn't she look fantastic! The Purple Boat has been the same colour since it was first built over 40 years ago, it's a great family tradition started by my grandmother. JD Narrowboats in Shardlow are doing an amazing job of bringing her vibrancy back!
